1) Grouping nearly everything–well, everything really–under a stupid reductive dualistic opposition between quantity and quality. Yes he’s one of those people who transforms use-value and exchange-value into an opposition and generalizes the fuck out of it. (fuck those people) This opposition makes quantitative and abstract things BAD and qualitative things GOOD.
2) Not only is this an incredibly lame interpretation of use-value and exchange-value it also leads to grouping and treating disparate phenomena in a simplistic way. Therefore rationality, homogeneity and value are all bad and revolutionary politics, festivals, art and fucking holidays are all qualitative and equivalent forms of resistance. No way that shit can be subsumed by capital. Makes me wish him, Marcuse and Reich had just had a three way and gotten over it.
