Amalgamation and Capital.

Re-watching Deadwood, which others have recently written about in terms of its analysis of capital here and here. Unfortunately, I’m all too busy with the exciting task of trying to find adjunct teaching to add my own thoughts, but I’m glad people are countering the narrative of interpretations that read Deadwood simply in the empty terms of a story about the formation of a community, when its about the particular social constitution of the western expansion of American Capitalism, like if political marxism had a TV show. Since nobody has posted the amazing montage displaying the rationalization and subsumption the Hearst mining corporation institutes, I’ll simply post the excellent moment that Marx is name dropped:
